    In my opinion, link exchange and forum signature are two best methods to get backlinking.
    Join a group of webmasters and bloggers who publish on the similar niche. Tell them you are going to share their website links on your website and ask them to return the favor.
    Join popular forums and use your website url as the signature. Every time you post on these forums, your website link will appear under your post.

But even if you don’t post about your site, you can make a post on other subjects in the forum. Your link in your signature will serve as your backlink. The more popular the forum is then the better for your backlinks. That also applies to blogs where you can post your comment.
