    I don't think proper keyword research can be done with a single tool.
    Market samurai is okay, seo spyglass to check backlinks and competition using your own judgement, and maybe keyword canine which is quite a nice web based tool meaning it won't take up your computer's resources.

    Though many people suggested Google AdWords tool as the best keyword research tool, but I've come across a keyword research tool that is far better than the Google AdWords tool. The tool I came across recently which I would call the best is Jaaxy. Jaaxy is still the best because it improves over other tools as it discloses the overall monthly searches, average searches, keyword quoted result, keyword research indicator, article power and lots more.

    I have read about other keyword tools but since I got to know how effective Google AdWords I have been searching with it.Google helps to bring out all the queries in one's niche, so you can easily get the long tail or short keywords in a bit.
