Everyone is trying to be the next YouTube sensation and get millions of followers overnight. I'm here to tell you that a massive amount of followers like that doesn't come without you taking some crucial steps prior to even launching your first video on YouTube. Do you think all of these big names on YouTube are getting millions of followers because they're using an iPhone or Galaxy to record what they're doing and then they just upload it to their channel from their phone? Nope! They're taking their time to script out what they're going to say and do, then they record the video, and then the editing comes into play.
Many people start out their YouTube journey and get discouraged pretty quickly because they think "If I record it, they will come" and that isn't true at all. Look at some of your favorite YouTubers, they have done all of their homework and marketing before even posting a video. They shot the video with a hi-resolution camera, they edited the video perfectly (or had someone do it), and they did all the marketing as well as the optimization as they posted it to the platform. Not only that, their interlinking to other social media platforms is always there in order to capture people wherever they can!
You need to crawl before you can run, and that's what I'll essentially be going over here right now 
First, you'll need a domain, website, and hosting
This isn't actually that difficult to do for anyone of any skill level. You can simply go over to NameCheap, or any hosting company for that matter, and purchase their cheapest shared hosting package just for starters as well as the domain name of your choice. The domain will be linked to your hosting account, so you don't have to worry about playing with nameservers or transferring it to somewhere else. After that gets activated, usually within 24 hours, you can now think about your websites design and how you want it to function.
Bring in ThemeForest and all of their fancy Wordpress themes to the rescue! Yes, you can purchase a fully functional website for under $100 and it will look amazing compared to what you can code up yourself if you're not a web designer. I use WordPress themes all of the time because they cut my costs dramatically and the design time is pretty much non-existent. What you'll do is search for a newspaper or media related theme that has multiple homepage options so you can play around with what you like. You'll also want to focus on the themes that give you Visual Composer, or something similar, so you can simply drag'n'drop to design your pages. No Coding Skills Needed!
After you get your website up and running, you will now need a YouTube channel (if you don't already have one).
Now you'll need a YouTube channel
This is probably the easiest part of the entire process because you're just going over to YouTube and setting up an account. You'll want to link this to your website, so use an email like [email protected] so if you happen to sell the business, later on, you have everything linked together already
After you have your channel active, you'll now want to customize it slightly, and all you have to really do is add a profile picture and top image to your channel so it's unique.
Now you'll need something to record yourself with
Don't use your phone or tablet to do the recording, because it will never look amazing. Sure, it could look good, but it will never be the same as if you were to use an actual hi-resolution video camera. If you can get something to stabilize your camera when you're moving, go for it, but it's not always a necessity. You'll also want to invest in a tripod so you don't have to set your camera on a desk and worry about the angles.
This will, of course, cost a few bucks, but if you want to be YouTube famous, it's worth it
Now you'll need video editing software
Just doing a quick search on Google for "Affordable video editing software" I knew that Adobe Premiere Elements and Cyberlink PowerDirector were going to be 2 of the best options for me. Both are under $100 and they don't require a monthly subscription, which is really nice if you aren't 100% sure if you're going to pursue this or not.
After you figure out which editing software is right for you, and your wallet, move on to the next step.
Now you'll need to practice everything until you're great
You won't be great right out of the gates when it comes to recording your videos and editing them, it takes practice, but hopefully, you're patient and can do this over time. Figure out what settings and filters are best for your videos, then put them into your editing software and play around with them. You can even use YouTube to watch tutorials on how to make better YouTube videos using your specific editing software! Talk about a great place for videos! lol
Once you have something you're proud of, upload it and wait for some initial traffic, if you're not getting enough people to your video then move on to the next step below.
Set up a PPC campaign
People are always worried about getting traffic to their videos and how much they will make from it, but they rarely think of how much it should cost to get that traffic. You can't really do any sort of arbitrage when it comes to YouTube and PPC campaigns, even if you're a YouTube partner, so remove that from your thought process right now.
Instead, think of what you can do legitimately and run a Facebook ads campaign to bring in penny clicks! Yes, you can get clicks for just a penny and they'll usually be worth it if you have great videos to watch! You can target 3rd world countries and set your PPC at $0.05 on Facebook, which will drop to $0.04 within a day and eventually get down to $0.01 per click if you're lucky. Usually, this will take a few weeks, but it's worth it in the end because you can get 1,000 views and some comments for just $10 Yes, that's much more expensive than what people are selling YouTube views/comments/likes/subs for, but these are legitimate and not a bot that will likely get removed from your statistics. If you want to play it safe, use legitimate traffic and stop hiring people to send 1,000,000 visitors to your video for $20 lol.
In conclusion
Not everyone will be able to do all of the things I mentioned above, mainly because it takes an upfront investment, and not a lot of people want to take that type of risk on something that might not work out in the long run. I'm telling you that if you were to take the risk, actually put your time into this like it's something you really want to grow, and you're not taking any sort of shortcuts you can grow your YouTube channel easily and over time you will be successful
