    Well it depends what you mean by international traffic. If you want to increase traffic from a specific international country you need to write in their language and do SEO in their language.

    If you write in English you are basically rank for international stuff.

    You can also have more then one version of the website, like having the same website in more languages is also an option.

    I have been thinking about this before I came across with this discussion. One friend who has a plan of building a website for her retail business is asking me of how she can promote her business locally. She wants it to be local to avoid the hassle of international delivery. Besides, her intention for her business is just within our country. Maybe I can suggest an SEO work for the local traffic by putting in more Filipino words and sentences on her web pages.

    With the blogging that you mentioned I guess you have to focus your direction on the countries that you target for your traffic. It would be good if you will be mentioning those countries or part of those countries because that will be interesting to the people of that nation and your blog can even go viral. An example is when your niche is about cars and you mention BMW which is one of the best cars that is made in Germany. That will be interesting to the Germans.
