Being profitable without building backlinks.

A lot of people think that all you can do in order to be profitable you need to build high quality backlinks and dominate for competitive keywords. Well I'm here to say that's not exactly true. I have a few profitable websites and all I do is purchase advertising space on specific platforms in order to pull in targeted traffic that wants to give me money for a digital service or a physical product

One of these platforms is the obvious Adwords. I like targeting the long tailed obscure keywords because I can pay much less per click and if I have a good product, I can make a decent profit. I won't make a sale for each click, but on the low end I have a 1% conversion rate. If I'm paying $0.10 a click that means I'm spending, on the high end, $10 to make a sale. If I profit more than $10 per sale, and I usually do, I'm going to be profitable. Now this usually takes a ton of tweaking and there's no guarantee that you can do it with your niche, but it's possible. If you can find a low competition niche that has a little bit of traffic, you can probably get your click below $0.10 a piece. If you're in the competitive basket weaving niche I'm sure you can dominate everything with $10 a day and $0.10 per click lol

Another nice platform I like using is BuySellAds. The only downside to this is that none of the advertisers are created equal. You can have 2 websites offering the same banner placement with the same amount of traffic, but one will send you 100x the clicks compared to the other. This is due to the traffic sources of the websites you're placing ads on and there's nothing to help you figure this out unless you contact the website owners directly. I bought $100 ads on website claiming they had 1,000,000 visitors a month but in reality it was probably bot traffic because I would get the exact same amount of clicks each day, odd right? The ad resulted in zero sales and was a complete waste. On the other hand I've purchased $25 ads that claim they get 100,000 visitors a month and I've made sales consistently month to month which is pretty nice. The only way to know for sure is to test out your desired ad positions over time and monitor them constantly.

Bing Ads and Yahoo Ads are a great place to get some traffic from because it's the same concept as Adwords. You pay to be placed on the top of the search results and you can pull in traffic that converts much higher than most sources. People are already searching for the keyword and when the page loads they see your ad first, and they click.

Overall I would say to go with Adwords because Google has the majority of the traffic share right now. You should tweak your campaign over the course of a month and if it all works out, you'll be profitable

Think outside of the box and you won't have any worries, hopefully.

Hi Razzy, with BuySellAds, can you advertise your SEOClerks affiliate site with it? Do they allow that sort of thing on there? SEO/SMM services and the like. I see they have a Web Design category, and even a Cryptocurrency category which looks interesting. But I don't see any SEO category. Doing a search for SEO on their site I do see a bunch of SEO related sites and blogs and tools and stuff. But no actual sites that sell SEO services.

I'm more interested to know if I can use an SEOClerks affiliate site with it.

Also, I see that you can by ads on WarriorForum on there too. For the one I'm looking at it says $5.99 CPM. I presume that literally means $5.99 per 1 thousand impressions right? I guess that could be eaten up quite quickly and doesn't guarantee you any actual clicks either.

What do you reckon?

Yes, you can usually push an affiliate URL through BuySellAds depending on the person who approves it. Each ad is approved by the website owner who owns the site, not the people at BSA. So some will allow affiliate links and others will not. But I've never had a problem pushing an affiliate link through BSA because people want to get paid and the site owner is just turning away money if they deny you lol

Also, I see that you can by ads on WarriorForum on there too. For the

Yeah, you can pay $5.99 for 1,000 views on your ad. Most ads get around a 0.01% to 1% CTR. So you might be paying $5.99 for 10 clicks making it around $0.60 per click. You'd probably be better off just running an ad through Adwords or Bing Ads for that price.

Also, if the ad is in the footer, you should avoid it because not many people will click on it.

I have checked some of the success stories of people who never used backlinks. But they make use of ads and the social media. So at some point you have to take some steps. It's not that easy to build profitable business without it. You can get traffic the alternative way but it takes time. I think nobody has that patience and for same reason I would say it is safe to say backlinks do help in that part.

It is true that backlinks help you get a higher rank on SERP, however, building backlinks is not the only method of getting high rank on search engines. Having quality contents with focus keywords and meta tags also get you a higher rank on SERP. By generating social signals, you also get a higher position on search engines. Having high-rank means, you will be receiving organic traffic.

I may sound ignorant but this is the first time that I’ve learned about the Bing Ads and Yahoo Ads that you can pay to have your link to be on top of the search list. I know of some website owners that spend much for their promotion. They are mostly focused on SEO methods. But if there is a way to be number 1 on the search list then I guess most of them will prefer to pay instead of waiting for the SEO work to take effect.
