    You are right that link building is a continuing process especially when you want quality backlinks for your site. You have to be selective with the sites where you are posting your backlinks. Only popular sites are good for the quality like the edu and gov plus public domains although popular sites are also good enough like big forums and blogs of famous bloggers. Posting a comment that is interesting and with substance will give you a quality backlink. Do it regularly for the continuity of the activity.

    To keep going! Even when you have good rankings, don't stop! Because that will just stick out like a soar thumb. And also because your competitors will always be working away doing SEO and link building on their own sites to try and outrank you in the SERPs. Backlinks from sites in the same niche as yours always help as well but you want a good healthy link portfolio of backlinks from high quality sites online.     Link building is a continuous process. You should continuously build links and never stop the process. However, one thing you need to remember while building backlink is you should never build links to low-quality sites. It the links come from low-quality sites, they will do more harm than benefit your site.
    Another thing you need to remember is building links manually, If you use automated link building, chances are that you will be getting links to low-quality sites.

    From what I understand about quality backlinks, choose the websites where you post your backlinks. Building your backlinks is not just a simple spreading of your website’s link on any website. Choose the popular websites that will give your backlink quality. What’s the point in posting your backlink on a website that gets only 5 views in a week? What about posting your backlink on a blog that gets a thousand views in a day?
