Does Country Flag influence getting orders or sales?

Sometimes, i have noticed that when a new seller wants to set up an account for the purpose of selling some services, he may start considering using IPs that reflects some countries like USA, UK or any other one instead of his own country most especially if he is from ASIA or AFRICA. I have encountered some sellers like that.
Then i did some little research on it and discovered that it may be because most buyers are from America and Europe and they love to patronize sellers from these regions with the intention that they deliver real and genuine services unlike others.
Please how true is this?. Or is there any other reason whey they do this thing?

I don't know what's the real reason why they do that, but personally for me a flag it's just a flag and it has to do nothing with the quality of the seller, now I'm not saying that all of them provide the same quality, but it really doesn't matter from where you are, if people are buying from me it means that they're happy from my service not from my flag. I live in a country which is located in Europe, and I'm pretty sure that some of them don't know or even have heard about it. In the end, a flag does not make any difference, skills yes.

I love your statements on this. its just that i sometimes notice that some potential buyers do patronize sellers from USA or UK, saying that they are for real, honest and offer genuine working services. whiel some dont mind as long as you have some good positive reviews, they will buy from you. it all depends on the buyers discretion.

Well flags do represent countries, and some countries have a worse name than others or a worse reputation than others do. And in some cases, or probably more than we realize, many people prefer only to either buy from people who are in the same country as them, or buy from people who aren't in a country that has a bad reputation. I don't want to call out names or point any fingers, but some countries do have a really bad rep like Nigeria, Somalia, Pakistan etc. They are mainly 3rd world countries where the quality of living is poor and there isn't much infrastructure or income and the rate of crime is high. But that's not to say that other countries don't have their fair share of crime too. But that is something that can either possibly, or in some cases, definitely have an effect on that sellers performance, success and sales.

To me it doesn't really make that much a difference when I use other things to determine a sellers trust worthiness. I look at things like the current feedback their service has had, any current recommendations they've had, their seller ratio. If I can't see much of that, because the seller is fairly new. I'll often message them first and ask them some questions and then make my decision based on how fast they respond and what their actual response is like!

The good thing about SEOClerks is that as a buyer, (even as a seller) but as a buyer, you are protected in that if the service isn't delivered to you, or isn't delivered any where near what it was described like. You can get your money back if you reject the order. This isn't a free pass to reject all orders even if they are delivered as described. In those cases, the seller is protected as well.

Do you mean intimidate? But why wouldn't other countries outside of America and Europe deliver real/genuine services? Are you being bias chetaseo?

Personally I do not give much important to the flag that is shown on the person's profile, however there are indeed cases where one gets biased according to the country of origin of that individual. For instance, some prefer to deal with people from US or UK, mainly because of better communication. Then there are some countries that have a less favorable reputation than others. So I believe that it does have an impact, and that there are people who place importance on this factor. I would prefer if there was no flag shown at all to prevent such problems as it is not that fair.

You are right on what you have said,..even i have received some messages from some potential buyers who want to order my services because they saw my country flag. Also i have noticed that some prefer sellers from america mostly because they feel they are original and honest sellers and will be very comfortable dealing business with them. but all in all, it all depends on the individual,.if he wants to go for a seller because of nationality, fine, if not, still fine!.

I think its important because alot of scammers from from different countries. I think people who shop on Seoclerks will tend to try and stay within the country they live in. They feel more comfortable because this seller is from the same place. I have heard many sellers from India are scammers and rude. I have also heard the same thing about some parts of Africa, anyone who has seen and heard the same as me are likely to avoid these countries. I don't think we should make a decision based only on where someone is from no. Just like anything else though we need to do our research before making a purchase. I'll give you a small example on a test I did on a different but similar marketplace with seoclerks.
Made one account with my home country flag, Romania and another one with the flag of United States and another one with the flag of Israel.

I used tools like Tunnel Bear to register those accounts, I published the same services at the same price but with different written descriptions, all of them were basically offering the same thing.

Guess what? For some reason I got the most numerous orders on the account with the Israel flag, second by US and coming in last was my account with the Romanian flag.
Don't know if was just coincidence but my gut tells me its not, the flag does matter to some degree, at least when you first start and you don't have any reviews yet.

I never thought about it until now. Perhaps the country flag does play a bit of a role, like Cristian said he tested out a few different flags and it seemed the country flag does affect sales.

That said I don't pay too much attention to flag when I am considering placing my order. I have sometimes had a look just out of interest but not as a deciding factor at all.

Perhaps this is because I am from South Africa and I know very well what it feels like to be branded according to the reputation of my country, or what people think they know about my country.
