Can you anyone give me a good explanation of how to do keyword research specifically for Youtube?
Is there a keyword research tool for this? I have only come across keyword research tools for the web but not for Youtube.
I do ok, I just do my keyword research and then I check those keywords in Youtube to see what videos are there, how many views, likes and comments they have and how they have done their SEO optimization for those videos…
But what I really want is a tool that I can just enter keywords into and it will spit out at me how many Youtube searches there are for that term and how many competitors are targeting that keyword too.

Thanks Cristian. I do very well with optimizing my videos for SEO...so almost all my videos rank on page 1 of Youtube, a lot of them #1.... so that is all cool. I was just wondering if there was some secret Youtube keyword tool that I didn't know about :)

I don't think there is such a tool like that specifically for YouTube searches. The closest thing you have is Google's Keyword Planner Tool which you can use to search the same searches that might be searched on YouTube. However, that will only show you what the average number of searches is and doesn't no longer show you how many but gives you a range from say 1-10k or 10k-100k which is bizarre but they only show you more exact numbers if you are spending money with them these days.
There are some other online tools you can use to get some rough idea of how many searches per keyword or phrase are being searched on YouTube. One of them is keywordtool.io/youtube However, for YouTube results, you can do a search, but you'll need to sign up to their basic plan to see the actual numbers.
I'd be interested to see what other people say though and if anyone else can share or tell of something that can show you that!
