    Are you guilty of keyword stuffing?

    Have you ever stuff your content with your keywords? Best known as keyword stuffing? Did you find that this blackhat method hurt you a lot? If so what was your experience with it?

    Yep. to my frustration, I did stuff my article with keywords and so are those plugins I'm using. I did put keywords repeatedly on it. And somehow I ranked. I wouldn't recommend doing it now as google's algo is becoming strict every now and then.

    They say that keyword stuffing is considered black hat SEO method that it can cause your site to be banned or sanctioned by Google. But I am wondering if those talks were true because I have been seeing sites with a lot of keywords that are even scattered on the content of the web page. And yet the ranking in the search list is very good. Maybe keyword stuffing is just an invented word and the effect is not negative although excessive keywords in the content is annoying to the readers.

    I have never experience it. Keyword stuffing happens when you use keywords, linking structures, tags and other means of optimization on your site that has no relevance to the website's content or purpose.

    Many years ago before I understood SEO as I do now, I used to think that it would help if I had the keywords I was trying to target on my page as many times as possible. I'd add them in randomly as much as I could up to 20 times per 100 words or something. But sometimes I'd create pages with the keyword in the title once, on the page once, in the meta description once and as a meta tag once and nothing else. I built a whole site with around 100 pages doing that once (as an experiment). Needless to say it didn't help much and I don't think Google or any visitors liked the site much. But I was very naive and didn't understand what SEO or great web design was back then. I've never done actual keyword stuffing though like adding the keywords x amount of times on the page and everywhere else. It's just bad practice and is not what makes for a quality site so I really don't understand why people done it and if they still do it today then that's just majorly naive and stupid and will just be a waste of time, energy, HDD space and bandwidth IMHO!

    I have a friend who has the habit of stuffing his web page with lots of keywords. He also does that when uploading his videos on Youtube. He said that the more keywords you put in, the better your chances of getting a hit or traffic. I agree with him because his website seems to be doing good in the traffic department and all because of his claim about stuffing keywords on his web pages. However, I have read in recent discussions in this forum that stuffing keywords is tantamount to violation in Google’s policy. I really don’t have a clear idea of that but maybe the other search engines will not penalize you for stuffing keywords.
