    Hey everyone,

    I haven't seen much that helps out people with generating emails for list building, so I'm here to help with what I know List building is tough, but can be done easily with a few tricks and small investment

    First off you need to optimize your pages because people won't just add their emails to a form if they don't understand or get sold on what the content says. Think of your email capture pages as a sales page and the sale is the person entering their email. You don't make any money when they submit their emails to your list, but that's not what we're targeting right now because you can monetize this later on List building is tough, but can be done easily with a few tricks and small investment

    When you're optimizing the text on your page you need to make it short and sweet. Get right to the point and hit then hit them with a form just under the text. When I say "right to the point" I don't mean that you should add a "Sign Up To Make Money Online!" Get a little fancy with it and pull them in. Give them some information that will make them go "Huh, how did they do that?" and you'll see a ton of people signing up.

    Now the small investment comes in when you set up the website (domain, hosting, design, etc.). Another small investment is using PPC campaigns to increase your subscribers/lists.

    I like using facebook to increase my email lists. This method will work well if you can configure your campaign so that you get the lowest CPC you can. For me I have a news related website that is specific to a certain niche, I'm not going to share my niche because then anyone could copy me lol. So I'll set up my CPC campaign and have the ad point at my email capture page.

    • The ad title will say something like "Niche Specific News - FREE to Sign Up" or something along those lines. Obviously "Niche Specific" is the niche you're in List building is tough, but can be done easily with a few tricks and small investment
    • The description should be short and sweet as well. People don't read ads, so you need to give the a reason to look at yours. I like putting in there "100% FREE" because even if they just skim it, they'll know that they're getting something for free and they are more likely to sign up lol. Even if what is free is your emails, they'll probably sign up because they don't want to miss out List building is tough, but can be done easily with a few tricks and small investment
    • For the image you'll have to split test a lot of ads to figure out what works best for you since every niche is different and I can't tell you exactly what will work for this. Normally people smiling while behind a computer or shaking hands works well with a little bit of text. But again, not every niche will work with those types of images.
    • Targeting is key. I'll use gaming as an example... You can target people who like gaming or you can even get more specific and target individual games. Don't venture out of your niche when targeting just because you can target more people. If I'm in the pet hotel niche and I target Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift I'll have a much larger target group, but the conversions will be pretty horrible.

    How much on average would you need to spend on a campaign to get at least 500 subscribers to a list? I have tried Facebook Ads in the past but it didn't yield the results I was looking for, and just eventually gave up on Facebook Ads. However, since it appears that Facebook is working out a way to show advertisements even if a user has AdBlock than I may want to try it out again and see what happens.

    Sorry for the late response.

    Normally with facebook you'll want to see it as $1 per email capture. Now you may get 100 for $1 through facebook, but they won't be buyers. I say to average it as $1 per email because that's normally what I've seen as what it takes to get a buyer, not just a sign up List building is tough, but can be done easily with a few tricks and small investment

    Thanks Razzy, this is brilliant because I honestly never thought of using a Facebook advertising campaign to my subscriber form. I am going to need to think about this one now, my brain has seriously started ticking now!

    Razzy do you ever use a "free gift" to get subscribers to sign up, like an eBook or something like that?

    I was thinking of creating a beginners online marketing course and using that. I wrote an eBook and I am giving that away now for free and it is working nicely but I think if I change my strategy a little and just give them the eBook at some stage during my email newsletter series it will be like a nice surprise gift they weren't expecting...

    What do you think? Have you ever created an online course?

    I was also thinking of designing a recovery course for my addiction website but I am nervous because I am not a counselor or an addiction expert... well I've done the practical and I've done the rehab but I am not a qualified professional.

    I've used free services in the past to build my lists and they work very well. I remember about 6 years ago I was offering 100 free backlinks to anyone who signed up to my newsletter. I would get a ton of sign ups and after they signed up they would get a form URL to where they could input their information for the free 100 backlinks. The form was set up so that it could only be submitted one time per IP address. The user would also have to input their name and email so I could pair it up with the subscriber. Of course I got a lot of people trying to game the system by using a VPN which would switch their IPs and then they would fill out the form again. But if they didn't match up the Name, Email, and domain to the subscriber then they didn't get the free backlinks lol.

    I think I built a list of around 10,000 unique subscribers doing this. It turned into a lot of sales in a short amount of time, but I noticed that people who wanted free backlinks aren't the ones who really want to sign up for paid services lol. I scrapped that list and I'm really angry that I did List building is tough, but can be done easily with a few tricks and small investment

    I am not exactly be using email marketing but I am quite interested because I thought that email marketing is already dead even if I am receiving some emails from big companies from time to time. Now I am wondering how you get subscribers to your email marketing via the website. I still don’t understand why people will sign up for an email subscription because email about business is looked as if they are spam.
