This question was inspired by another discussion here. Can anyone give me tips and ideas on how to start and build really large and active Facebook groups?
Yes I have a few groups but they are not very large or very busy either. I would love to build some really large groups in different niches and then use them to post my content to so that I make easier sales because I can pin my content.
Yes I know nothing is easy and doing something like this will take some hard work, but that is just fine I am happy to put the work in if I know if will be worthwhile in the long run.

Facebook Group Types
Anyone can see the group, its members and their posts. These are also indexed by Google.

It's best to have your group as a Public group really (depending on what it's about) as Public groups usually end up with much more users in them than other types of groups. And if your group is about something public such as blogging or something then go with Public.
But a group, whether it's a public, closed or secret group is only as good as the members that are using it! Just like any community is only as good as the members of that community. And you'll need to attract members to it sort of how you would with a Facebook Page. You'll have to promote, market and advertise that group in the same sort of way to get members to join it. One of the best (and free) ways of promoting FB groups is to use other/similar FB groups and post in them about your group with some cool promotional message. Chances are the people in that group that see your post will join your group if it's about something they are interested in.
That's how I started with one of my YouTube music groups. I just posted about it in other YouTube groups and people were joining it like crazy. I get around 100 new member requests for it each day now and have to go in every day and approve them but it only takes 5-10 minutes depending on how many people have requested to join it.
You can buy group members as well. But the quality of those members is always questionable. Some people say they are "real and active group members" but that's just BS. They say that all they done is add their friends to it. But I've purchased those and none that I purchased, not one single person posted anything to the group and none of them left the group as well. If they were really "real and active" some people would post stuff to it, interact with the other posts and/or leave the group.
However, it doesn't mean it's a waste because like buying views/likes/fans can encourage people to like/subscribe join etc because they think it's popular. So having a lot of group members in your group can encourage more "real" people to actually join it. You can purchase FB group members on here for around $1 per 1k. I will put a service up for it myself soon (just working on my sales page).
But yeah, that's about it in a nutshell. Just make it, post some cool stuff to it, invite yer friends to it. Promote it on other similar related FB groups. You can even purchase some promotional packages on here for social media promotion etc. And in time it will grow bigger and bigger. It doesn't happen overnight! But it can be worth while later on down the line when it has a lot of members.
