    for new websites the best way to start link building is directory submission and after a while you can start with others ( comments,linkex,article submission... )

    Submission to directory is not an easy work because it is just the same with promoting your site in social media in terms of time and effort. The directory or bookmarking sites can give you a backlink but not really that effective unless you get lucky. Social media posts are now recognized by search engines and I think that is the best starting point for a new site because social media is somewhat hospitable and accommodating especially if you have many followers and friends.

    Google panda says good bye to duplicate links, there means Google will consider only quality links. quality & related links only help to improve the SERP in Google search result page.

    I am still in the learning stage with link building but my take is blog commenting because I am fond of reading blogs especially those blogs that fall under my niche. I think that commenting on a popular blog can give a good return in terms of the backlink that the many readers of that blog can see my comment and be curious about me hence they will click on my signature and presto, that’s traffic.

    You should understand that each link should benefit users and your business, then such links can be considered good and be included in your strategies. Pay attention to the domain authority-an estimate that takes into account the number and volume of incoming link mass. A web platform that is referenced by many reputable web resources is much more profitable to use than those that can not boast of great authority. As well as site traffic, thematic page, site spam
