If you have ever looked on the market place you will know that the amount of SEO related services on offer is a lot, and I mean a lot! I am always on the lookout for ways to save money and today I spotted a person on a site offering SEO work on an hourly rate. This is something completely new to me and it really got me thinking. In the past have any of you every tried hiring a worker related to SEO on an hourly or daily rate? Personally I think this would allow you to get better results as you could set them say a bonus for achieving certain results. If you think this is a good idea what results would you expect to see in an hour and what would be a reasonable rate?

But it all depends what they are doing and if they are working hard or not. You don't want to hire someone and pay by the hour if they are not working hard and doing enough to merit paying them however much it is you're paying them per hour for that work.
The good thing about services that you pay a one off price for is that you know what you're getting for it. And if you like it and it works well you can buy it again and again you know what you're getting for it. Where as paying per hour you might not know and it might not be the same.
This is the sort of thing you'd have to hammer out first of all with that freelancer who is working for you so that you know roughly what they are able to do for you each hour so you can say okay, today I want 5 hours of whatever it is they do so you know what you're getting! It depends what they are doing doesn't it! If they are doing some particular marketing and are able to make so much headway or send so many leads to your site per hour and those leads turn into subscribers and or clients that makes you money and what you are paying per hour is less than what you're making from all those leads. Then yes, absolutely you should pay by the hour. :) But it all depends what they are doing and if they are working hard or not.
