Write the reason you're deleting this FAQ
Since the beginning of this year, i have being hearing news that Google has stopped updating websites in terms of their page rank,.please i need to confirm from the house here if they have ever heard about the news and if it is true? And if true, then what is the way forward now? And most importantly how does one monitor the progress of his website since it is mainly determined by increase in Page rank? Please i need your feedback, suggestions, advice, comments. Thank you.

You're welcome. There are many free online PA and DA checkers out there. Some are better than others! Too many to list here. Just do a Google search for "[b]bulk pa da checker[/b]" and you will find them. The bulk ones are useful because it means you can check the DA/PA of many of your internal posts/pages etc and not just your homepage. :)

I'm really glad they've done this since it was creating a bad user experience and a lot of spam. All those PR9 links being sold to naive newbies are no more! Although some people are still selling them. Even though the actual link they get isn't on a PR9 page.
However for monitoring progress, one should be using a rank tracker of some kind so he/she can monitor where they are ranking in the SERPs. I use ProRankTracker. So that is how you should be monitoring the progress of your site not by what the PR of it is.
Basically, Google can still see the PR internally but the public cannot see it. What you can still see however and are reliable are PA (Page Authority) DA (Domain Authority) as well as things like CF (Citation Flow) and TF (Trust Flow) as well as other 3rd party metrics like mozRank, Alexa rating etc but those are 3rd party metrics and Google doesn't use them as a ranking factor.
Just focus on building quality backlinks and doing quality SEO both in terms of your on-page and off-page SEO. Forget about PR. It's gone and will never return. Instead focus on building and doing both quality on-page and quality off-page SEO and monitor your rankings with some rank tracking software and hopefully, just hopefully, one day people will forget all about PageRank and that it ever existed.
