How do you save a website that drops very low in Google ranking? What are some good strategies to follow for this?

When Google ranking drops occur it could be one of several reasons. So it is best to try to find the reason behind the drop first, so as to take action accordingly.
1. A big drop is generally a result of a penalty - check for any site messages from the Google webmaster tools account. To prevent such penalties avoid duplicate content, and keep an eye on links.
2. You could have a competitor/s who outranked you - keep an eye on their sites to see where they could be better than you, especially in their content marketing and linkbuilding strategies.
3. Check for any lost links regularly and keep building more organic links to your site.

Well I think you would first need to find out what it is that is causing the drop in Google. If you have have your website set up for SEO, do proper keyword research, write quality content, add content regularly, SEO your content correctly and share on social networks your ranking should be going up. You should also be building some quality backlinks.

There are varied reasons for the drop in ranking not only in Google but also in other search engines. First is the content of your site. That happens when you are not uploading new contents that the search engines think your site is stagnant. Another reason is the competitors which may have been flourishing with the SEO work. To stop the drop and even improve the ranking of your site in Google doing SEO methods will work on your problem.
