Simple way to Migrate website to another hosting?

Hi People,

Anyone out here know how I can migrate my wordpress websites to new web hosting location. currently it is hosted in godaddy want to host on hostgator.
Please let me know working and simple way.

I would go into File manager and there select all folders and files and compress them into an .zip archive which i then download..

second thing is to backup mysql databases.. once you have this you can then restore it on your new hosting..

so as you can see it is quite simple. then once you restore .zip and mysqls on new hosting, set your domain to point to new hosting so called nameservers (new hosting provider will tell you how to do it. its just changing some value in your domain registar control panel.

some hostings provide free transfer assistance..

Adding to postcd's steps, you should also update your wp_config file with the new database name. As it is usually prefixed with your cpanel username in case your control panel is cpanel.

You can also use the full backup option in cpanel and provide your gzip file to your host for restoration. It is far easy and one shot step to restore instantly.
