    Should you try to recover a hacked Facebook account?

    What if your Facebook account is hacked or stolen, should you try to recover it? What if you rarely use it? Should you just let it go?

    If you never used the Facebook account for business or social purposes and didn't have any family/personal photos on the account, you could easily give it up.

    I've worked on my Facebook page diligently for well over a year. And, since that page is only accessible when I sign into my Facebook account, I'd make a serious effort to get the account back, if only to access my Facebook page, if it got hacked.

    I am not an authority on the subject but my take is to just let go of a hacked Facebook account. However, you have the responsibility of announcing that your old account has been hacked for the hacker may use that against you. There are cases where a hacked account was used to borrow money from the owner’s connections because it appeared that the owner was still the one handling the hacked account.

    It's better to not chase after it anymore. If they've already hacked it, then you can bet that they can do it again. So make a new one and mark it as private. That way only you and your closest friends will see your new account. Besides, making a new one is free.
