    Do you rely on word of mouth and customer referral to get more business? How do you encourage your current, satisfied customers to spread the word?

    Just asking people to tell others in the industry could be enough to get a few referrals. Though you will want to keep up with these people so you capture their repeat business as well as referrals to other business.

    I think that word of mouth is great for freelancers. I would not entirely rely on it but it does help you get new clients.

    Most customers will be happy to refer you to others if you have done a very good job. But they might need a reminder when you turn in the completed order.

    You could remind your satisfied customers to tweet or share your service on Facebook if they were happy with the results. That would be a nice word of mouth gesture.

    Yes word of mouth is a great way to advertise. I have gotten a few jobs from word of mouth and that feels great.

    Some companies use word of mouth exclusively rather than traditional paid advertising. This can work very well, especially when you have an avid fan base which is willing to talk about your products.

    Some companies use word of mouth exclusively rather than traditional paid advertising. This can work very well, especially when you have an avid fan base which is willing to talk about your products.


    This could be effective, especially for a tangible product such as soaps or perfumes where the user is very brand loyal and doesn't hop around much.

    Word of mouth advertising on Facebook is so powerful as people are more likely to listen to their Facebook friends than even someone they know in real life.

    word of mouth is a great way to attract more clients. People are likely to listen to the personal recommendation rather than the 100 reviews from the people they do not know. In order to get more from word of mouth you will have to encourage your friends and family to promote you on social media. You also need to ask your clients to recommend you. A good promotion strategy is to give some commission to the person who sends you a new client.
