What do you think about Youtube Material Design?

As we all know, design of Youtube hasn't changed too much for years, but Google appears to be testing new design for the Youtube website, which will be completely different from the old design. However, material design it's not released yet , but i have heard that Google will roll out it within the next few weeks.

Personally, i'm loving it!

If you haven't tested the new design yet, you can search on Google about Youtube material design.

What do you think? The new design, will improve the user experience or not?

Well considering most of Google's Android apps have received a Material redesign and the Chrome Material design rolling out, it only makes sense that other Google products including YouTube would follow suit as they look to modernize the web.

The new Material design has actually been designed to improve users experience. You can actually enable the new design right now with Google Chrome and here's how to do it.

Go to https: www.youtube.com/?gl=US
Open the developer tools (ctrl + shift + i)
Go to the ‘Resources’ tab and delete the VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE cookie for the YouTube domain
Go to the console and define the VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE cookie using the following command:

document.cookie="VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE=Qa1hUZu3gtk;path=/;domain=.youtube.com";

This will only work if you're not logged into your Google/YouTube account in that browser though.

Of course if you don't want to do that, you can just wait until Google rolls it out and it will be available in all browsers.

Personally I also really like it over the old style we've so grown accustomed to all these years.

It's well overdue if you ask me but this should be the start of a much better looking, more modern looking Internet for all.

This was something that I was not aware of, so thanks for sharing. I checked it out and I must say that I like it overall. The previous page layout was not something that I liked that much, and this is surely an improvement. All in all it looks more modern and it seems to be more user friendly as well as it gave me the feeling that it is much neater than what it was like before. Youtube's logo is also going to change at last. I think it is about time actually as it has been like that for years! I think that this interface looks better and it should do quite well. There are going to be people who agree with me, and others who prefer to keep everything as it was as they oppose change. These are likely to give some negative comments of course, but that is something to be expected as there are always those who are afraid of change and take a bit longer to get used to it. But from comments posted by those who tried it out already it seems to be doing quite well.

Yes, definitely the new design will be better than the old one.As you said, some people don't like changes, especially when it comes to social media.

This material design is probably working now because this is an old topic. But I don’t think there is much difference in the new design of Youtube. What I noticed was the change in policy more than the change in the design. I hope Youtube will bring back the previous policy on the monetization without the limitation on the number of subscribers and minimum amount of viewing hours.
