    The first step is how to determine who the competitors are. Take note that you have to check at least the 3 major search engines namely Google, Yahoo and Bing. The appearance of your link on the search list will not be the same for the 3 major search engines so you can note down the competitors. But with the traffic of your competitors you can check Alexa ranking although it is not up to date that sometimes the number are 6 months ago.
