    Nothing is useless if you use it right. Blog comments at high PR sites hold value. I don't think profile links have a great value until they are generated from a reputed site.

    its a little bit tricky actually
    in blog commenting you should try to use your website niche, its easy for blog moderator & write quality content.
    beware for using these kind of words "GREAT POST", "GOOD WORK", I JUST CHECK YOUR POST ITS AWESOME" etc.
    these type of words just for spam, 2nd thing dont make extra blog commenting , using with consistency, i mean do some research daily , just make 5 blog comments on different blogs, 
    In profile links is also same like blog commenting, start with your niche type websites & make a good profile with your link.

    If you can get a comment with backlink from a page rank five blog, then how is that useless?  Every backlink from a related or relevant page is considered a vote of confidence for your site.  So in that way, they are useful.  Same goes for forum comments.

    Ans: it's not useless because if you put comment on PR  6 blog. so it's helping for increase your PR and your website traffic. So it's useful.

    I think they are good for indexing and backlinking 2nd and 3rd tier links in link pyramids.

    In my opinion All High quality Links are valuable for SEO. And that back links can come from Blog Comments, Profile Links, Forum Posting, Blog Posting or articles Submission. Just you have to maintain that you can use 100% Unique content on this post. Thanks

    I agree that high quality links are important for the SEO of the website and you can have quality links by posting on popular websites. With a blog comment on a trending blog, there is a high probability that your comment will be read by other users and therefore your backlink may be clicked. But the fresh content is the primary element of importance regarding search engines. Fresh content indicates that the website is active. However, contents should be original and unique which should not be copied from another site.
