Yes, but no where near as much as they use to be. They were spammed to death.

Yeah right! I agree with you guys, profile links are no more considered beneficial in SEO world.

I had commented in another discussion that promoting your backlinks in blogs is better than promoting it in forums because the forum signature is commonly ignored by the readers. The backlink of your site can only appear in your signature otherwise there is a board for the purpose. With the blog comment some readers get interested and has the tendency to check your signature for the link to your site.
