Here are the details about how levels work and when a seller gets promoted.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Your classification is based on your on-site activity. If you're more active as a seller, that's what your classification will be. If you have more purchases, then you will be classified as a buyer. There is an option to choose either 'buyer' or 'seller' when signing up, but that will have little impact on your userlevel/classification as that is solely dependent upon your own actions.
