    Its not true. Most article directories are unique and highly page rank based. So to make a back link with article directories will generate huge traffic for your website. It will also play an important role for the page rank of the website.

    Article directory can get you nofollow backlinks, therefore article directories are good for SEO purpose. However in order to benefit from article directory, you need to build backlinks in the related niche and the article directory where you are publishing contents must itself have a high rank on SERP.
