    I took this to mean black hat, white hat, and gray hat. And then there is natural or organic SEO as well. I think that the organic SEO is the best, but it is often time consuming. White hat is the next best, as search engines like this practice. You are following the rules here. Gray hat is a mix of white and black hat, so it has the positives as well as the negatives. Black hat means you are doing unethical things that the search engines do not agree with.

    Pardon me for this comment because I didn’t understand anything in your comment in relation to the question. Or maybe you have misunderstood the question but there is the possibility that it was me who misunderstood the question. Anyway the best type of SEO is not clear because what’s on my mind is the best method of SEO. Maybe the question should be clarified before we can give a sensible answer.

    The best type of SEO is white hat SEO. And the best type of white hat SEO is doing SEO that gets you links from sites that are in the same niche that yours is in. That can be the hardest thing to do since most of those sites will be your competitors sites and aren't going to want to help you out. Unless you pay them of course. You can pay them for a guest post but while this can be good to have as if it's done right it can look very natural, it's considered paying for links and that is completely black hat as far is Google is concerned and they would prefer that you got those links naturally without having to pay for them. That's why Web 2.0 sites can be good in that way as the next best thing because you can build related sites about your niche or industry and then use them as related backlinks to your site. Of course, on-page SEO is as important as off-page SEO and that means only using very high quality content and having good site structure.

    I am not good with SEO but my take is contents because as always, content is king. When you upload fresh contents regularly then the search engines, particularly Google, will take into consideration your ranking based on the contents that you have uploaded. Especially if the content is unique which was not copied from another site and well written then your ranking in the search list will be high.
