When someone sets up a Facebook page for their website they expect it to be a dedicated sales funnel of high quality traffic that leads to dozens of conversions every day. Unfortunately, this is far from the case because it takes time to build up your presence on social media. Most of the time a page on Facebook falls into the abyss of other similar pages and gets almost no traffic at all, which is unfortunate. To make your page really work out for you and your business, you'll need to run some paid ads, which will get your message right in front of specific people who have a higher chance of converting into a sale.
It's almost impossible to create a successful business page without running some sort of advertising. The only way to get instant success with your page is if you already have a huge email list of subscribers or you're already successful with your website and you can funnel traffic.
Recently I created a closed group for people interested in eCommerce and in the beginning it was only to test out a few things, but it turned out to be pretty successful. Facebook groups provide several benefits other than giving you another outlet to advertise. In this discussion I'll go over the top 5 benefits of making a Facebook group for your website or niche.
1. It's more personal than a business page
Have you ever landed on a business's Facebook page? It always lacks something, and that something is engagement! People see business pages as an advertising outlet for companies to promote whatever they want, not interact with their target market. People won't usually post on a business page because it will only have one person interacting with you, the business owner or social media manager for that company.
For that little reason, this is why Facebook groups fills a void. Your potential customer can come in, comment, get responses and you can even have something on the page that helps them out... a.k.a. your consulting website or whatever 
Most people won't come in and comment on a business's post, but if you open the flood gates and let people make their own posts on the group page, you'll see a much larger engagement than a business profiles page People want human engagement, not someone who might pitch them a method or system for a price.
2. Drives peoples attention to your call to actions
In groups you can pin a post to the top of the results for any page you're an admin of. This is a great thing to use when you have a large enough group of people who routinely come back to your page and talk.
Don't get too spammy with this, you don't want to push people away by making your group look like one big advertisement. You can post something like "If you'd like us to feature your group on this page, PM us your domain name and we will look into it. If you're a good fit for our group, we will be in contact and figure out what you'd like to post." This way you're not just pinning your own stuff and you're actually giving a chance to other website owners within the group. Even if you only plan on pinning your own website to the top, you still need to make it look like you're giving everyone a chance lol
3. Polls get immediate feedback, which is awesome
Facebook groups are a great place to get some immediate feedback on whatever you want. If you're building the group from the ground up, all the feedback will be extremely valuable and you can use it to make the group even better. If you're creating a poll, you can ask anything you want. You can ask what people would like to see in terms of content or what you should change about the group itself.
4. Groups are good for announcing offers
My eCommerce group I mentioned earlier was great for announcing offers. The group consisted of a bunch of entrepreneurs and long time business owners who all have one thing in common, they had websites and wanted to make money through them
I paired this up with the method I briefly mentioned above where you can ask others to message you for a chance to get pinned to the top of the page, and it took off pretty well. You'll need at least a small following for this to work though. The more followers you have, the more engagement you'll have on the offers you're announcing.
Usually I'll offer something for free as long as they signed up for my newsletter. And we all know the beauty of getting people to sign up for newsletters Sales Funnels!!!!
5. You can build up your trust by providing free valuable content
Everything I talked about above required one little thing... trust. Without some trust, you won't have the engagement on posts, shares or polls and you won't drive any traffic to the pinned posts at the top of your group.
Providing value to your group members will build trust among them. If you're commenting on posts, liking posts, and doing whatever you can to build trust without spamming your links... People will come back and post, comment and like the same way you're doing to build trust. It's like a snowball affect, the more people you help out, the more they will help out when you're not online It's like a free social media manager who helps others out lol.
In Conclusion:
Building a Facebook group is a great way to build up trust within the community. You will need to spend some money in order to build up your group. If you don't open up your wallet a little bit, you can just kiss your success goodbye because you really do have to spend money to make money. Remember, in the end if you don't have any trust, you won't last long
