    Fake pagerank is exactly what it says, a fake page rank applied to a page that actually dosen't have PR. I personally use different tools to test the real PR. One of them if http://www.rankchecker.com/pagerank-checker/

    Fake Page rank is becoming a very serious problem. When somebody is offering a domain name for sale, they can synthetically increase the domain's PageRank. It is achieved when fraud domains use a 301 or 302 redirects which point their websites to sites with a high PR. This is a well-known trick in the SEO world, but people who aren't familiar with Search Engine Optimization are most likely to fall for this.

    A website can have a fake PR when the Page Rank returned from the Google servers is actually the Rank of a other site. A website with fraud PR has mainly tricked Google into believing it's really another website on the net and then Google assigns both sites a identical PageRank score.

    Fake page rank is a common SEO trick you should be aware of when doing a number of things from buying an attractive domain to buying page links or adverts.
    Domains with a fake PR are often banned from being indexed by google but more immediately important is that many sellers will advertise the domain as PR7 for example to raise the price you pay for it.

    Yeah many time when we search any free list of website like profile links, social bookmarking, article and many other so at that time they show fame website or many time their data not being updated so they show old page rank value. If you want to know the right pr value of the website so you can check by the putting url in the prchecker and then you can get the right pr value.
