Does Etsy work well with Shopify

Has anyone tried using Etsy with their Shopify stores? If so what type of advertising works best with Etsy?

They are two very different platforms.
You can sell products separately on each platform, but I would first recommend starting with one at first, until you have good traffic coming through and consistent daily sales before trying to take on another online-shop.

I think Shopify can sell at the facebook, twitter, youtube and few other places. You can see that some of the people who wish to use the shop at social media are making use of the shopify and not etsy. As etsy has it's own store and the marketing option. I didn't find much use of the shopify on the etsy. But it's well worth using for sure.

If these 2 are platforms for selling then I guess this discussion is beneficial to freelancers who are involved in selling particularly the members in this marketplace. I have heard of Etsy before but I cannot say anything about it except that some of my freelancer friends are into it. Lately it seems that Shopify is getting very popular that I am tempted to have my own shopify just for testing the feel of it.
