    Should we have a blog on our forum ?

    Community forum is the place where people can discuss on their favorite niches. I am running a community forum and I really like to being an admin of a forum. I always try my best to attract people to join my forum and make discussions with other people. But its not so easy. However, nowadays I am noticing that many community forum have blog. I think that blog is not important for a community forum. Forum is for discussions and if you will add a blog to your forum then may be you will get less activity in your forum for the blog. Because your forum member will also go with blog posting and they will not have more time to make discussions on forum. However, I know my thought may be not right but I think that blog is just waste of time for a community forum though many people have blog on their forum. However, what do you think ? Do you agree with me or you like to have a blog on your forum ? I hope you guys will share your opinion with us.

    One compromise might be posting links to blog posts on the forum. In other words, people can discuss the blog post in comments on the blog, but they can also discuss them on the forum. Anyhow, I think strong blog posts, discussed on the forum, would massively help a website, not hurt it.

    Yes it is important to have a blog on our forum, because it give you a chance to hear persons view an option to give you fresh new ideas to improve on what you are doing.

    Yes, it is a good idea to have a blog on your forum as you can post the updates on your blog. You can get the opinion of visitors. for this, you would have to let them comment on your blog posts. You can get ideas o improve your site. There are a lot of chance to get a massive amount of traffic for your blog.

    I think people who own blog have lot of good opportunities. As you can see they can make use of the links. And those links can be affiliate links or the backlinks. And that process can take one to manage the forum. You can see that such option with the blog and forum would be lot different. I prefer to make use of the forum. I don't have any plans for forums these days. As it takes more time to manage those forums. You can clearly see that options with the forums missing as blogs grow every day.

    I own a forum i was going to add a blog on to my forum but wasn't sure if I should or not it's a TECH forum so I do need it to become popular. Thinks I might add wordpress to my forum today and see how it goes from there.
    I just need to find many way's to promote my forum as my forum is on my main domain name, So if I add a blog it be /blog on the end of domain do you think this is a wise choice.

    I think blogs are important to tell people what your website is all about. Blog posts can be used to provide information that people can read to learn about topics related to the niche. Forum discussions can help drive traffic but they can go in any direction. You can always choose to manually approve blogs to prevent just about anyone from posting articles. Likewise, you can implement a ranking system and specify that only members with a certain rank can post blogs within the site.

    I run a blog on my forum because these days having a forum is not enough. You need to have enough content to attract visitors from all formats. Once you get them to the blog you can hopefully convert them to a forum member or at the very least become a regular reader on your blog.

    I guess it will depend on the kind of blog and forum. It’s not a good combination but it can be an appropriate combination if it complements each other. A forum about pets will certainly be better if there is a blog about the same. Much more if the blog will accept guest blogs from forum members, that would be an added advantage since the readers of the blogs can also be attracted to the forum. That’s called residual members courtesy of the blog. And for the blog readers, they can also come from the forum members.
