    Hmmm, cool mini-guide and overview for what social media optimization is Centurion. This really is a shortform way of explaining SMM in a nutshell. Because while SMM is made up of many parts and there's lots of ways to go about it, in it's basicity, in it's most rawest, most simplest form, it's basically just promoting yourself on social media. Whether that be Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google+ etc etc. It's about finding the ways in which you can promote yourself or your site and business on social media without getting marked as a spammer! And anyone spamming on social media is NOT doing proper SMM! There are ways of going about it that are proper and correct and you don't even have to hit it hard. What really matters is consistency. Being consistent and adding new content, updates, pictures, videos etc all the time. I think I read on Forbes once that said "Never go a single day without even doing a single action on social media". And that's something that stuck in my mind ever since. Although I struggle to find the time. I really need to start using Mass Planner! What is social media optimization?

    Social media optimization does include the black hat approach too. Like buying likes and the shares through the fake influencers. And this way it can be quiet harder on those points. I just think that some of the time we have to approach everything long term. If we think short term be it SEO or the SMO both can be going in the black hat way. So that's something to consider.

    Thanks for the message and reply. Social media optimization means to add your website with 100+ social media website in this world. Like you want to open an account with VK. At the time of account registration you have to full fill the account information and you have to insert your website address also. For the website that is social media optimization. Website address add with title or with keywords- is called social media optimization.

    I was going to ask for the difference between White Hat SEO and Black Hat SEO. But one of the commenters above ( overcast ) offered a clarification. I did not think that Vine and My Space were still on the social media map. But I guess they are for those in the entertainment industry. I'm glad you brought up this topic because it's a good pointer in the right direction.

    I understand that it is good to have accounts in all social media platforms if you have a business. That will enable you to get a wider space for promotion. But I still can’t get the hang of SEO with social media and the backlinks as well. Pardon my ignorance but I am confused because SEO is the ranking of the website in search engines. Now I cannot understand the connection of SEO with social media. Maybe I have to study this subject matter more. Added knowledge for me.

SEO have some factor to increase page rank of your website or to increase your website position on search engine for huge traffic. The best SEO is white hat SEO. White hat SEO have 2 parts- on page SEO and Off Page SEO. Off page SEO have huge options. One of them is social media optimization. Social Media Optimization means there have huge and huge social media platform available on this online world.You have to create a new account on social media website and you have to full fill all data and you have to insert your website address with the fields.
