Hello there
I don't think that you will be able to earn money with just traffic until having good and attractive website content. If you want to earn money with your website then I will suggest you to do SEO and add new content regularly. Then you can buy some traffic for getting some extra visits for your site. I think most of the people do this. On the other side if you don't have website and still want to earn money with traffic then you can choose some URL shrinking site who will pay you for promoting shorten links.

Creating a good and informative website if first key to making money from traffic. Without a website you have no where to direct the traffic to. Once you have the website working on monetizing it and adding advertisements such as Google Adsense is a good idea, don't add too many to each page, may in the footer or the header of the page or even down the side of the page is best. Once you have a website in place and yours ads in place then it's time to keep the fresh content coming onto the site and buying traffic to boost your earnings. It's not something that will happen in a day but with time and patience good things will come.

There are quite a few ways to make money with your website and buying traffic. The most obvious way is by placing ads on the site and earning through the clicks you get on them. Some advertisers also pay you for page loads (eCPM) too. But it's not easy to find them along with the right kind of traffic that they allow you to buy when using them. Most advertisers say that you aren't allowed to use their ads on your site if you are buying traffic for it too and even state which traffic providers you aren't allowed to use when using their ads on your site. Example Hitleap traffic, jingled traffic etc.

That said, there are some advertisers (usually the smaller ones) that do pay by eCPM that you can put on your site and send traffic to it from multiple sources and traffic providers and make some earnings from it. But you may often end up spending more on traffic than you earned through your ads and that defeats the whole point in doing it!

So the trick is (since this is more of a science) is to find a good quality traffic provider/source and an advertiser that pays eCPM and is okay with your traffic that you can earn more with than you've spent on that traffic.

I know this one Russian guy on Skype that buys loads of cheap traffic in the millions and then earns more from it than he spends on the traffic and badically just rinses and repeats the whole method over and over again with many different websites.

But it took him a lot of time in testing and trying out different combinations of traffic and advertiser to get it just right and find the perfect combination. And he wouldn't just tell you who that is for free. You'd have to send him a bottle of vodka at least lol.

I think this is an old discussion because from what I had read recently, selling traffic in this site is not allowed anymore. But for the sake of this topic, I am wondering why people want to buy traffic. Don’t you know that traffic can be fake? If you really need traffic then my suggestion is for you to find an SEO specialist or a freelancer who can do SEO work for you at a lesser cost.
