Google XML Sitemaps Plugin Review

Everytime I'm setting up a website I always think of how I'm going to optimize it and what I will use in order to optimize it. Will I do everything by hand or will I have some specific plugins to help lead me through the process, and the Google XML Sitemaps plugin is one of those that I always choose to help with my website or blog Google XML Sitemaps Plugin Review

As most of you know, a sitemap can help the search engine spiders crawl through your pages because the sitemap consists of links to all of your pages. If you use the Google XML Sitemaps plugin you will be able to automatically generate your sitemap and auto update it whenever you add a new blog post or page to your website. I've seen people make a specific /sitemap.html page and manually updated it whenever they add a new post or page, and that gets extremely tedious if you have a big website with a lot of content Google XML Sitemaps Plugin Review With the Google XML Sitemaps plugin you don't have to worry about adding anything to your sitemap since it will be added for you after you make your post or page go live Google XML Sitemaps Plugin Review

This plugin is one of the most downloaded and review plugins in the wordpress directory, and the main reason is because it works well.

If those numbers don't convince you that this is a pretty awesome plugin for any website or blog, I don't know what will Google XML Sitemaps Plugin Review The Google XML Sitemaps plugin has been around for 9+ years and has a very good track record. With 1,000,000+ downloads and only 1,400+ reviews you know that many people are loving this and didn't think of coming back to leave a positive review. Just remember, people are more willing to leave a negative review than a positive one, and this plugin has barely any negative reviews Google XML Sitemaps Plugin Review

So in the end, if you have a website or blog on wordpress you should definitely check out the Google XML Sitemaps plugin and test it out Google XML Sitemaps Plugin Review

Oh. Hmmm.

Ok at the risk of sounding like a complete idiot... you need to update your sitemap? I thought I just had to submit a sitemap to Google and it was like done.

I can't remember how I did mine. I think my SEO Allinone plugin had a sitemap section to it. Now I feel just stupid?

So what is the difference in submitting a sitemap from AllinOne SEO plugin or Yoast plugin compared to the Google XML sitemaps plugin?

No Lynne, your sitemap is automatically updated for you each time you add a new post/page on your site. There is no difference really between the 2 sitemaps. They are both XML sitemaps and can both be submitted to WMT in the same way. Google XML Sitemaps Plugin Review

No updating needed lol.

I've just seen people have a /sitemap page and they add links to it whenever they add a new post lol. It's tedious and can easily be automated Google XML Sitemaps Plugin Review

Oh nice one Razzy! I always use that plugin too. Although that said, sometimes I'll install Yoast plugin which comes with a sitemap included, and it means I can't use that plugin with Yoast as they're not compatible with each other and it means I have to uninstall it and am forced to use the Yoast one instead.

Although it's been a while since I used them both together. Do you know if they are still incompatible with each other? I prefer the Google XML sitemap as it's a much neater looking sitemap and of course, it can create an XML sitemap (sitemap.xml) as well as an HTML sitemap too (sitemap.html).

There's nothing really wrong with the Yoast sitemap so to speak. It doesn't create a sitemap.xml file though (structured like that) it creates a (sitemap_index.xml) which is fine and more of a preference thing. And I think it can be changed.

But again, I prefer the Google XML sitemap but it's not compatible with Yoast which really sucks!

It's a tough decision because I do love the Google XML sitemap plugin but I also really like the Yoast plugin which gives you a sitemap Google XML Sitemaps Plugin Review

I guess it really comes down to if the site I'm working on is reliant on search engine traffic to be popular. If it's not, then I go with the Google XML sitemap plugin. If I want to optimized absolutely everything on the page, I will go with Yoast Google XML Sitemaps Plugin Review
