Reasons to create a Wikipedia page
Wikipedia is a living, breathing encyclopedia where anyone can add their own pages, articles, and knowledge. Topics cover just about anything: Green Day (the band), pinball, carbon black and, yes, even content marketing.
Should you create a Wikipedia page?
Here are a few indicators that this type of content may meet your needs:
- You have an industry-changing technology that your company invented or developed. This technology can be anything from mechanical to chemical to musical (e.g., iTunes).
- Your founder or company is “notable.” Wikipedia editors apply a “notability” test to determine if your subject warrants a Wikipedia page. If your company has invented something or if your founder is a person-of-note (e.g., a famous author, the first person to row a boat across the ocean), then your company or founder might be a good candidate.
- You can’t find any information about your technology or topic in Wikipedia. This is what prompted me to suggest creating a Wiki page for my client’s technology.

In fact, I was just looking at ahem, 5'rs wikipedia page that i stumbled on last night and that has been brought into question as well by the way that it has been written. There is even a notice saying that and offers you a way to make changes to it yourself to improve it.

I was actually even wondering the other day if SEOClerks has a Wikipage as well. I was going to use a Wiki script on one of my SEOclerks affiliate sites as well and create a wiki for SEOClerks on it as Google loves these things and eats them up! Plus they can be great for getting an insight into companies or organisations to see who they are, where they are and where they come from and their history and all that and the like.
Because anyone can create a Wikipedia page. Just sign in and create it. But the trick is to remain impartial and unbiased. And be comprehensive as well and be very detailed about everything related to the subject matter the Wikipedia page is about.
So yeah anyone can and they might stick if they are good. Well as far as I know, by nature, Wikipedia is collaborative. So anyone can create a Wikipedia page. And also anyone can edit an already created Wikipedia page. However, the original creator only can approve those edits and changes.
