    How to get accurate organic keyword search volumes without Keyword Planner

    The recently changes Google made to its Keyword Planner Adwords tool is making me believe that Google doesn't like us to figure out how much potential traffic keywords can get, they basically want to stop content creators from focusing on keywords and their search volumes and in turn focus on the niche and the subject in hand, giving people a content-based answer to their search intent.
    How to get accurate organic keyword search volumes without Keyword Planner
    That's why my Keywords Planner has become useless since I don't have any active Adwords campaigns to run the Keyword Planner accurately. I have to use my work account for my keyword researchers.

    So what can day-to-day SEOs do to get more accurate search results? I'll list a couple of tools that can be a much better alternative to Keyword Planner:

    • Ahrefs Keyword Explorer
    • Moz Keyword Explorer
    • SEMRush
    • KeywordTool.io
    • app.kwfinder.com

    Sure, not all of these alternatives to Keyword Planner are completely free in their final form but all of them are more complete than what Google was offering, you get a lot of insights and information KP never had and it surely bits the necessity of running a bogus Adwords campaign just to be able to see accurate search volumes.

    I don't use Adwords myself currently, and I haven't really used Keyword Planner Tool in a long time since they give results that are like 1k-10k. Which is far far from accurate. How are you supposed to know what the real results actually are? Like how are you supposed to know if it's actually closer to 1k than it is to 10k? And what about results that shows 10k-100k. How are you supposed to know which end of that figure the search results actually are? Is is 11k or 99k? How can you tell? Well you can't unless you're actually spending money with them. Which of course they have done so that you will spend money with them. That I personally think is unethical. I believe this is sometimes referred to as "Bait and Switch" and I think they had been planning to do this for a long time. IDK I just think it's all about strange but that's business eh!?

    Yes I agree with you that they probably planned that for a while! Offer a free tool for a while and then make it completely un-usable for non-payers and usable for paying customers.

    I never liked the Google Keyword Planner anyway.

    I got BarryInSiam to do some keyword research for me a few times which was excellent for me at the time. I wasn't quite sure how to do keyword research and he did it for me and advised which keywords I go for. I had to ask quite a few questions.

    Later on I started learning more about SEO and keyword research and I found Jaaxy. I have been using Jaaxy now for nearly 2 years.

    I am very happy using Jaaxy for keyword research.

    BarryInSiam ...OH YES! That's a good example of very successful seller right there! I would die to know what kind of tools he is using! Maybe I should contact him and ask him for an interview for the Community Discussions!?

    Did that, I've contacted him but unfortunately no reply, maybe he is busy, I'm not giving up hope.
    Do you have any other recommendation in terms of big sellers Lynne? Someone very good on SEO so I can build a list of question for him/her and set up an interview.

    I thought I already know about keywords in the SEO game but now here comes the Keyword Research tool which is another way of evaluating keywords in lieu of Keyword Planner. Maybe I have to devote a day or 2 in understanding the nature of keywords and the concepts and principles why there is a need for research and evaluation because all I know about keywords is that they should be relevant and directly related to the niche.
