    How to use LinkedIn to get some clients.

    People always talk about how they get loads of clients off of LinkedIn and I always wondered how they did it. After I began my journey to acquire clients off of LinkedIn it became pretty apparent how to do it, but it takes a lot of work. I know that with a lot of people in the online marketing world we want something to be quick and produce amazing results, but this isn't that type of marketing. You'll need to set time aside to invest into this in order to make the sale.

    Your first step is in my last LinkedIn post where I went over how you can optimize your profile so it does all the selling for you. All you would have to do is sit back and wait for people to contact you about signing up How to use LinkedIn to get some clients. You can read about that HERE.

    After you optimize your profile you'll need to become an authority for your niche on LinkedIn. This isn't an easy thing to do, but it can be done in time. LinkedIn recently within the last year let everyone blog or post articles. Now you'll just treat this as a typical blog and post great content. Your connections will get notified of your posts and hopefully this will bring in a few leads a month. Be sure to not stray from the niche your trying to sell in because you want to become the authority. Posting about SEO all the time and them posting a picture of your cat will make you look less professional, and that's not what you want on LinkedIn lol.

    You'll have to build your connections. For me I always search for the terms CEO, President, Vice President and any other high ranking titles. I search these people because they are the decision makers and I don't have to go through any secretaries lol. Add as many as you can, I think you can only have like 5,000 outbound connection requests, but by the time you get that many out you can begin to delete the ones who haven't responded yet.

    After the connections begin accepting you should PM them immediately. Have a canned response set up where you can just copy and paste it into the message box. You'll obviously have to change the name in the response each time, but that's not difficult if you know how to type... In your message you shouldn't be pitching them your products or services. Instead just thank them for connecting and give a brief explanation of what you do and you can help them out if they ever need it.

    After a few months you should have a list of a few thousand connections and the clients should start funneling in through your blog posts and referrals.

    Linkedin is not the best social network out there in my opinion, but it has its pros too, so using it is not going to harm you if you know how to go about it. First off you should make sure the profile you create is as complete and as enticing as can be. Then you need to work to get connections. These should be wisely chosen, so that you will be able to utilize them so as to reach out to their connections, and so it goes on and on.

    Yeah I think it depends very much on your niche. I think LinkedIn can be good but I have personally found a lot more success on other social networks, specifically Facebook for my mommy blog.

    Im always on linkedin and i find it very spammy. I am going to try your method to see if it helps me gain clients. The years that i have been on linkedin i have only closed one deal wit one client. Every time i log in though it always looks like this:

    I bet you any amount of money though this is all spam and people who have no clue who i am requesting me. Linkedin in my opinion is saturated with spam messages and scams. Hopefully in the near future i will be able to convert some of this spam into money but who knows, only time will tell. Awesome discussion man i appreciate your time and knowledge.

    Yeah, the majority of messeges and connection requests will be spam, but there's usually a silver lining somewhere. And that silver lining is posting to your blog and converting them into a client later on How to use LinkedIn to get some clients.

    So how long do you wait before deleting that connection? Is there any automatic way I can do this? For example, let's say I'll wait like a month for a response, what should I do next if I don't get any replies from certain people? Go into the message section and just deleted all my old messages along with the connection I've written too?

    Good idea with only adding decision makers, this what I essentially did by instinct, I now have around 1000 connections and I'm thinking I should do a little clean up because I have lots of initial connections that don't have anything to do with SEO or online marketing and websites.

    Well you can only have, I think, 5,000 connection requests going out at one time. So when you hit that limit, start deleting the users who you've sent connection requests to and haven't responded for the longest time. Basically you'll have to go to your connection requests page and scroll down to the earliest ones you sent out. You can pick all of the connection requests for a certain day and delete them. Depending on how many connection requests you sent out on that specific day, you may need to delete the first couple days.

    I usually try to get a lot of connection requests sent out pretty early and then I'll dial it down to 100 or 200 a day. But to stay under the radar I would suggest not going more than 300 requests sent out in a single day.

    HI Razzy, I have been contacted on LinkedIn a few times before. Once by someone claiming a long lost relative died and left me all his millions.. this was about 2 weeks after I got married and this relative had my new marital surname hahaha so that was very amusing.

    Then I have been hit on via Linkedin message a good few times.. you know the type? You've got a beautiful smile, blah di blah your hair is shiny... blah oh and what an attractive profile... (married with young kids?)... rofl.

    Then people from China trying to sell me things, and loads of unprofessional private messags from SEO "experts" that are going to rank my websites in minutes, you know #1 on Google as they do?

    So one part of me says yes if you have a great message you will stand out from all the other BS... then again I get a notification I have a message at LinkedIn and I am already annoyed LOL.

    That said I wrote one blog there before and it sent a lot of people to my recovery from addiction website. That was a year ago so maybe I should really get blogging there?

    Wow, it seems like you have some odd connections. I've never gotten any messages like that, but that may be because I'm a big guy with a beard lol.

    When you're blogging on LinkedIn think of it as building your own reputation. Don't do it to find clients because you'll just get mad. But when someone does contact you, it'll be like a pleasant surprise How to use LinkedIn to get some clients.

    I usually get a few people contacting me each month just from my optimized profile. When I was posting a few times a day on LinkedIn I was getting much more people interested in talking with me, and they weren't spamming me lol.

    Thanks Razzy, yeah I get funny messages on all social networks actually. I think maybe because I am female? Honestly it is shocking, with Facebook being the worst one.. every now and then I have a look at my "other messages" and it is full of awful messages LOL

    I have to admit I think I should blog on LinkedIn. In was pleasantly surprised when I did that one post about my new addiction website how well my post did. Imagine I posted and linked to all my websites regularly?

    Amazing post. I registered on Linkedin some months ago and did not understand how to go from step A to step B on working on that site. I'm glad to have read this to fully understand how to go about that in the future.
