So you know some things about SEO and Web Design or you're just getting into the industry and you plan on outsourcing the work and taking a bit of profit off the top. Well that's awesome, but do you know how to find clients in order for you to make any money?
One of the hardest things about the digital marketing and design industries is finding clients who will pay you, and pay you well. You have all the skills, or know someone who does, and you know you can get the client top rankings or pump out a killer design.
But where do you find your first client, second client, third client and so on?
Well there's no easy button for this and if you don't want to put in a lot of hours I would suggest you just stop reading this discussion 
Finding leads may not be as easy as some of these systems out there claim it is. You will need to browse forums, blogs, go to events, use ppc platforms, etc. in order to obtain clients.
One of my favorite sources of leads is always going to be Google Adwords. This is Googles PPC platform and it's actually pretty great if you know what you're doing. I would suggest you buy a book, could be an ebook, on how to learn adwords. I'm sure there's an "Adwords for dummies" out there that you could get. Now I'm not saying you're dumb, I'm just suggesting that kind of book because they break down the steps of setting things up very well. It may not be the type of writing you would prefer, but it's what I like since it can be funny at times
After you get on adwords and get your first ad up and running you should keep grinding. Don't wait for your ads to bring in a client because it might just be a bad week for your keywords and you'll waste money. I've had great weeks where I get 10 leads for $50 and bad weeks where I spend $500 and get nothing.
So keep grinding on other platforms to find clients.
One website I like to browse a lot to see if I can get some clients is UpWork.com This is a big job board basically and people will post what they need done and the price they're willing to pay for it. Normally you can get some pretty good jobs out of this, but be weary, some people will pay you peanuts for the amount of work you'll have to do. I wouldn't just jump on the first project you are offered. Talk with the job poster and see exactly what they need done. They may not even know exactly what they need, but they had someone tell them they needed a responsive design or some backlinks, and that's your golden goose lol.

Upwork seems like a cool marketplace but from my point of view it's missing something, I'm trying to land a client there for over a year, it's true that I'm not really active and I just make offers from time to time but still. Only recently a client there contented me for some work and I have to say I'm very disappointed at the prices he had to offer, very low stuff compared with the amount of work he wanted me to do. We convened at a test project and we'll take things from there. Any of the big marketplaces are good for searching for you first client in SEO. But the easiest platform of them all is surely SEOclerks! I mean you can sell pretty much anything digital media related here and you will eventually find clients. You just have to endure and try this without given up.
