    That is one good opinion that you have connected the design with the traffic. I guess you have a point that when the website’s design is good then it can attract more visitors and more traffic means the ranking in search engines will improve. But to put it bluntly the web design does not matter in SEO because it is not part of the elements that are checked by the search engine crawlers. No matter how good the website design is it will not affect the ranking of the site in the search list.

    yes of course it can. if you have too many ads above the fold then you get penalized. if your website looks like shit and that makes your bounce rate 85% then you get penalized.

However, site design is not everything, you also need to focus on site loading speed, backlinks, and the content.

    Gee, I didn’t know that a unique website design could your website a good ranking in the search list. Perhaps this is the area of web designers that they should know the best design that can get a good ranking in search engines. To be honest, I have zero knowledge on the details and nuances of the web design but as a user, I can feel if the design is user friendly or not.

UI and UX are also important for monetizing your site. Some ad networks will reject your site if they are not user-friendly to easy to navigate.
