    Renting out websites to generate revenue

    I recently posted about how some people set up websites for the sole purpose of selling ad space on it. But have you ever thought about renting out a website to a company and they will get every lead that comes through?

    This is a similar concept to setting up a website and selling ad space on it, but with a slight twist. You're only getting one client per website and they will get all the ad space they want as long as it doesn't mess up the feel of the website. They can have leader board banner, side banners, text links, etc. and all will point at their website. They can even use the contact us form and anytime anyone fills it out, it goes right to their email.

    You can do this with literally any niche, and that's why it's pretty amazing and will unlikely get saturated. It is a lot of work to get a sale, but it's worth it in the end when you have dedicated renters who pay you month to month. You could even try to get them on a contract to rent out your website for a full year Renting out websites to generate revenue

    Once you get everything set up and the website is actually getting traffic, you can now start contacting companies in your area that will pay you to rent out the website. Start with the companies in the main town you're targeting because that will help close a sale if they go to your website and see it's dedicated to their niche and location. If you're getting 100+ visitors a day and it's in a niche like doctors, dentists, lawyers, or any other high paying job, you can charge $500+ per month to rent it out. If you're getting 500+ uniques per day then you can easily get $1,500+ per month for a company to rent out your website Renting out websites to generate revenue

    Sounds like a great idea which can generate quite a good income. However some questions i believe will arise.
    For example who will be responsible to maintain the traffic flow, who will add the content and who will moderate the website? Also, once you rent it can you be sure that the guy who is getting the website will not do some shady things to artificially increase the traffic or visibility in rankings just because he is the "owner" of the website now and he will probably want more from it?

    well they wouldn't really get access to anything. You would set everything up for them but they'd be the only advertisers on the website. When the form was filled out it would forward to the clients email and they could close the deal theme selves.

    If someone is renting out a website like this then I wouldn't think they would try to increase the traffic to it since they most likely have their own website they could do that for Renting out websites to generate revenue

    Yeah that's probably true. I was thinking that if they're are increasing the traffic on the rented website they might refer traffic which look more natural, more organic i would say. You know the more, the merrier. If you will maintain the access limited and advertise only to one guy and he's not interferring to much with the natural look of the website than it's a good business. Have you done this until now? Is it working?
    I know i haven't done it in this way but when i had my website up an running i sold adspace to multiple advertisers and nobody seemed to complain.

    No idea will be good until it works. can we actually find companies to rent our website. For example, I have a travel blog, I get 1000 visits daily. A travel company can make use of this blog to generate leads and sales. Now, where do I find the company that will rent my blog.Is there a marketplace?

    Oh that is a very interesting idea Razzy and certainly not something I ever considered doing. I always assumed that selling individual ad space was the way to go. I can certainly see why someone would be interested in renting out a website that had good traffic to it so that they get every single lead and click through from ads.

    Once again you have opened my mind to some incredible possibilities that I don't think I would have come across elsewhere.

    It would of course be a hell of a lot of work to set something like this up, but once you have then there is a nice residual income coming in once you have a company to rent from you.

    This is a great idea, and it can generate you a very good income, as long as your website has active visitors every day, but also I would say that depends on the niche, and the type of website. However, it's still a great way to generate income, and the most important thing is to find the right companies which are interested in. I've seen a lot of businesses here that don't even care to create a website to promote their business online, and this could be a great chance.

    That's a great idea, I never thought about this. I have a half a dozen websites running well, imagine how much money I would have if I rented all of my websites to companies making good money. However, there is a drawback on this. First of all your content of your website should be in line with the nature of business of that particular company, Secondly, you should know where t0 find companies that will actually pay you money. Setting a website costs less than renting an established website.

    I agree that this is a good idea.I think like with all ideas you just need to cold pitch them. You need to go out there and approach individual companies. I think that you need to create a market. If you go into a field like real estate and can get leads from your website and you rent this out to real estate agents, who are always looking for leads, i'm sure you will get one or two leads. I think like with any business, you just need to try.
