No, it is not illegal. The worst case scenario is Google banning your website

Yes! You will go directly to jail without passing go and without collecting $200!

Seriously though, no, you wont go to real jail like prison. It is not a law in any country that says you cannot do black hat SEO.

But Google might jail your website from showing in its search results if you do it. That much is about guaranteed.

So don't do it! There is no need to anyway. It's much better to do white hat SEO and that works out much better in the long run anyway!

Why get rankings quickly that drop like dead flies and results in a penalty from doing bh SEO when you can do white hat SEO and get much better and much longer lasting rankings from it.
