Google updates its search engine every day. If you are referring to the google page rank update, well nobody knows, just wait for it as everybody else.

google use 2 types of Update Skim and deep so
Skim Update working regularly and Daily,
where as deep links Update take place within 30-45 days and sometimes it take more than 60 days also.
GOOGLE PR is depend on Deep Update.

There are Google updates on the policy that you can read on this forum. The stalwarts of this forum are posting such updates whenever there is an issue from Google. But if you mean the update on the ranking of your site there is no definite period for that. The SEO work that you do on your site today can show the result next week or next month and maybe even for a longer time because Google has no fixed period for such updates.
