I think any network would work as long the ads are not similar to the ones of google.

Most ads networks work' well with Google like media.net,infolinks etc.you can incorporate them with Google AdSense but what you need are tons of traffic and an optimized blog with good SEO content to have a bit of success with there ad networks

I have tried Chitika and Infolinks and both if these ad networks work well with Adsense. However, you need to work hard in order to maximize returns from all of these advertising networks. The first criteria is traffic, second criteria is having focused keywords on your articles, third criteria is using proper ad spots.
