Have you heard of a Snapchat Turnover? Do you think it is effective?

Snapchat is used by many, and it seems that it is growing rapidly. There currently are some 130 million users who are active on Snapchat, especially teens and those in their 20's. I read that top influencers on this app are able to get some 400,000 views on a post. This leads us to Snapchat Turnover, which is basically an opportunity where a brand tries to reach out to a much larger audience by allowing a top influencer or snapchatter, to takeover their brand for a few hours. During that time the brand can get a large volume of traffic. Do you think that this could be a really effective marketing option?

Hmmm, I would be scared that another party could damage my brand. What are your thoughts about this and the effect this could have in the long term? I would have to know more about the intention of the advertiser. A potential partner or selected top influencers who wished to post on my account, I would have to have a legal contract holding them liable for damages to my brand. I would also want to have a pre-approval vetting process prior to any and all posts being sent out on my account with a clause that allows me to deny anything if it is not commercially viable for my company. That being said why would you not just promote the brand via a legal deal where an influencer pays you for you to post and you either approve or deny? You would not have to give up control over your account and would save a lot of time money and legal effort for a potential advertiser to make use of your account.

It is not a technique where you give control to anyone, it is a well-known person, a social media star, who has lots of followers, that can be engaged in what your brand is offering thanks to this marketing tactic. Snapchat turnover has proven to be effective for brands that have given it a go, such as McDonalds and Victoria's Secret. It is basically an influencer marketing campaign that can help to build brand awareness while giving the possibility of increasing followers. Getting the social endorsement from the right influencers is the foundation of the success for such a tactic.

oh i misunderstood then i thought that is was a absolutely a situation were you let some body control your brand and advertise there way on there own snap or some thing exactly a long those lines but i do understand what you are saying a bout it being about brand awareness and how brands are taking advantage of these stars and social media famous people to be able to reach out and push there brands out more then they already are it makes sense you can also tell really easy why it would be so effected or why it is ,

Thanks EliteWriter for this information. I learned something new today! I was under the impression that you had to hand over your account. Lol! OK, I haven't played around with Snapchat very much so I am not versed on this subject. However, I will be trying to learn more if it helps in building a company brand and or awareness. If any members have had success doing Snapchat Turnover I would be interested to learn what tips they could suggest that helps in gaining traction faster. This could be a big help for members like me who need to learn more. Plus it could also help members avoid the pitfalls of making a misstep(s) during the learning curve.

that is a good point web guy, i am not sure too much on how i would feel exactly about it , it can really just come down too a few certain things on the other hand one of those things that really caught my attention from you comment was how you took the time to say that another party could damage the brand and i believe it a ot of snappers as you said are in there 20s and teens and they are unpredictable i think it is things like this that companies should definitely take precaution about honestly

Well it sounds interesting to me, but like Webguy2024 said I wouldn't trust anyone with any of my accounts anywhere.

I also say why not rather just pay an influencer to share you account, not have control over it.

Trust no-one with your business, that is just how I see it. I don't give anyone access to anything except my sister. Oh and my husband can just turn on my laptop and have access to everything. But of course those are the people I trust the most in this world.

I could probably access a lot of my sisters stuff if I wanted to.
