    Any help with getting more blog comments?

    I know for those of us that blog or run a blog some times starting out can be the toughest part, so i am curious as to see what the opinions are like on SEOClerks about finding ways to get your blog comments going. I read online about milking the pot you know comment others and hopefully the same love get shown bac. Iused to work in this restaurant where my manager taught me to put a dollar of mine in the tip jar, he told me people are more likely to tip if they are not the first ones and i feel that is the same concept. Any other ideas to get the ball rolling?

    Well, one way of getting them is to actually ask for them! Some people write really great blog posts but they don't use any call-to-actions in that blog post to the readers. But blog posts that ask ending questions related to the actual blog post do get a lot more comments. So make sure that you end your blog posts with actual questions. Example, what would you do? What do you think? Have you ever etc?

    Sometimes you just need to kickstart the comments. Because comments beget more comments. So you could always post comments on your blog yourself using some dummy name/email etc. That way you can put comments that are good quality comments and quite controversial in nature as well. Leave a comment that would make people want to comment on that comment if you know what I mean!?

    Also, one other thing is looking into how people can leave comments. Are you using the standard Name/Email/URL field? Or are you giving your readers more options to leave a comment? Using Disqus can be good as it provides multiple ways for people to leave their comment such as with their Google+ profile, Facebook account, Twitter account etc etc etc.

    So all three of these things used together but the kick starting part most definitely are what can get the comments ball really rolling! Any help with getting more blog comments?

    yea i try to call for them as i write i noticed how effective that is , you know and it is not really much extra effort at all to do so in fact any body could write and ask there audience to respond off of what they wrote i like your concept you make the thought of it so simple but there has to be more then one method, dummy comments might be a little much to be honest id feel too much like i was talking to myself, lol but hey man if that works for you by all means..

    I've found a foolproof method of always getting blog comments a couple of years ago when I used to have an active blog.

    So, my niche was online marketing, this may not work with all niches, but the main process of getting an active comment section was commenting on other blogs myself.
    I've joined a really nice network of blogs, all on online marketing and I started to comment on their posts, soon after I've notice traffic and also new comments on my blog, worked even better after I allowed do-follow backlinks in the comment for certain members.
    But as soon as I stopped commenting on their blogs, they stopped visiting my blog, it was like an unspoken exchange between bloggers. Not that cool on the long terms if you ask me...but here you go, that was my method of always having real and nice comments.

    so in a way you were networking your blog, that is actually smart you know that is not some thing i would of thought to be effective to be honest i guess it is like you mentioned it was like a scratch my back scratch your back type of thing, i know you were not really expecting the traffic to slow down when you slowed down on the comments but hey you know things happen, it is a good tip though you know fact of like when you show love people are willing to show you love back and that is always great,

    It's not really love, its interest, its people seeking their own interest. This is why I don't like the blogosphere, too full of people slapping each other on the back while thinking they are unique.

    yea you do have a point there i give you that it is not really love at all , but when i say love i mean like a scratch your back scratch my back type of love , it is like social media when you comment on some ones photo and give a compliment people take the time to compliment back correct well that is what i mean but i also see what you are saying of course i understand that nobody will take the time to read any piece that you manage to put if the topic does not interest them

    haha ahh man this is great , i appreciate you took the time to type all this i feel you have some real good information in this comment man i really do what stood out was how you did not forget to mention to attempt a little something completely different diversity is really great and i feel it could make for a healthy blog i really do , it is as you said nobody is going to want to read a bulletin try a tutorial or at least that is what i got out of it , either way you got many great points

    I think joining a blog forum and the blogging group can be one good idea. You can share the content of specific person and then ask him to do the same. And this way you can share the comments too. I have seen that this method is wording for many people. And for this reason I think it'd be safe to say that people should blog more and also link to other people more. That can surely bring traffic.

    why don't you buy some traffic? you'll have instant traffic and you can moderate the comments if you want. I don't recommend to do it because it's really boring waiting for approval but if you think about it, it's the easiest, fastest way to get some comments in your blog.

    I’m sure you will get a return comment when you react to a blog. However, there is no assurance that the blogger will be coming back to your blog. What I can think of is to write a controversial blog. Not really so controversial as to elicit an argument or debate but something light. For example in a pet blog, what do you think is the best breed. That blog is mildly provocative such that a comment is highly expected. And another cute trick is to cite a reader for a sensible comment. That will surely imprint on the reader’s mind that you are reading the comments.
