    Which search engines are the best to target for traffic purposes other than Google?

    We are all aware that Google is one of the best search engines. However, which other search engines do you target that are just as good as Google?

    There are no other search engines "as good as Google" Everett. Simple as that.

    Google IS the biggest and best search engine of them all. It's like the sun, the sun is constantly expanding, eventually it will swallow all the planets in it's orbit in the galaxy before it collapses into its own gravity and turns into one giant black hole.

    That's how it is with Google, eventually it will swallow up all the other search engines and become the only one left on the Internet.

    So you shouldn't "target" any other search engine other than Google.

    What about all the traffic that Bing, and Yahoo receives on a day to day basis? Shouldn't you want to target those search engines to increase your website's activity? According to statistics by Quantcast, Bing reaches over 112 million United States users on a monthly basis. Yahoo reaches over 107 million users on a monthly basis. Shouldn't you want some of that traffic? Google apparently reaches 219 million United States users on a monthly basis, if you were to use Yahoo and Bing, you can combine the traffic which is 219 million users, which is the equivalent to Google's monthly traffic for users in the United States.

    You don't want a piece of pie? Just sticking with Google is good enough? Which search engines are the best to target for traffic purposes other than Google?

    Well of course. But you don't do your websites SEO for just Bing though do you. Just like you don't and can't do SEO for Yahoo only. You just do "SEO" and then that applies for all search engines. Since nobody really knows all the ranking factors of each search engine, but do know that generally, high quality links and lots of content are what matters, you build high quality links and add high quality content to your site for all search engines, Yahoo, Bing and Google. So obviously you want to get organic traffic from Bing and Yahoo too. But generally Google is the biggest and has the most users, and has the most strict ranking algorithm where as Bing and Yahoo's algorithms are a bit looser and not as hard to do as it is with Google. So get it right with Google, get good Google rankings, and good rankings on Bing and Yahoo are likely to follow.

    Also where did you get those stats from? They don't look recent. According to the latest Netmarketshare Search engine market share as of May, 2016, Google own 69.89% where as Bing only own 11.94% and Yahoo only 7.78%. In reality, Google dwarves all other search engines and makes them pale into almost insignificance.

    This is what it was for January 2016.

    An increase of 4.49%. If this increase keeps up at its current trend. We can predict that Google will own approximately 90% of all global searches in the next 5 years. Yahoo and Bing will probably merge and become Ying or Bahoo? Which search engines are the best to target for traffic purposes other than Google?

    I just worry about Google and not Bing or Yahoo. My way of thinking is that if you rank on Google you should be ranking on the other search engines too right?

    Why worry about the other smaller ones anyway when Google is so big?? Yes I know you can probably get a nice amount of traffic from the other search engines...

    What if another search engine comes up out of no where and surpasses Google? If you don't focus on other search engines, you are selling yourself short, right? No one thought any website could ever take over Google, however Facebook is creeping up slowly behind them. And Yahoo is somehow creeping up right beside them too. I don't like to put all of my eggs in one basket, I love to spread them out as an insurance policy of sorts.

    Oh come on that's never going to happen!? There's more chance being knighted by the queen. Anyway Facebook is a social networking site not a search engine. You can't compare apples with oranges! Yahoo is old clap and is running at a loss. Eventually it's going to run into liquidation and end up sold off to the highest bidder who will try and monopolize it (Bing). How do you even focus on other search engines? You can't. You can only do SEO which involves either on-page SEO (content, internal links etc) and off-page SEO (building backlinks). And that SEO is universal. Yahoo and Bing are easier to rank in than Google because they have less algorithm ranking factors than Google does. So you may as well do SEO that Google likes. Then if you can get good rankings in Google, you're likely to find you have good rankings in Bing and Yahoo too. These days, Bing and Yahoo are appearing to mirror Google's search results more and more. Much like how Ask and AltaVista mirrors Yahoo's results. I get what you're saying but when it comes to SEO, you can't put your eggs in other baskets. There are no baskets to put your eggs in. It's not like being an affiliate for one affiliate company and also being an affiliate for another. You can't choose which search engine to target with SEO. Although you can do SEO for one search engine. But you're doing SEO. And that SEO (no matter what SEO you do) is universal.

    Hi Everett Thanks for your question. Yes it is very easy to say other search engine name instead google. But I never can compare with Google as best traffic source instead Google. Google is ever best for getting targeted traffic. And I got recorded over 70% traffic generate by Google where yahoo less than 7% and bing almost same as 6.% for generating traffic. So, If I need to say instead of Google for targeting traffic. I should say yahoo second and bing is third. If you go out of topic social media another great way to generate targeted traffic. Again, no one better than Google.

    Google has the largest market share, however, there are other powerful search engines as well. Which search engines, apart from Google, you should use depends on your targeted traffic. For example, if you want Chinese traffic, you need to target to Baidu, which is the most used search engine in China (Google is not available in China). If you want Russian visitors, or traffic from Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Turkey, you may use Yandex.

    Since Yahoo is the second placer to Google in terms of ranking of search engines, I guess Yahoo Search is the best to target than Bing or Ask and some other lesser search engines. With Yahoo, it has a bigger audience and that’s what we need when talking about the traffic that we can get from it. However, if you are doing SEO for Google, that will also apply to Yahoo and the other search engines in town.
