Do you mean your SEOClerks profile picture? I've changed mine a few times. I used to use a cartoonized picture of myself but I've recently changed it to a meme of Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam painting which depicts God breathing the breath of life into man. But instead of God touching the hand of the first man (Adam), it's like I'm God (freelancer) and the other dude is my client. Anyway I like it and I've had no complaints and I think it sort of gives your profile that "personal edge" you know?
I think it's okay to change your profile picture from time to time. But there are some disadvantages to this. For starters, to a lot of people, your profile picture is a way they can identify with you. The recognize it and become used to it. When you change your profile pic, those people that grew familiar with it will have to grow accustomed to your new profile picture again.
Also for a business, it's never really a good idea to change your logo picture. In the same way as people grow familiar with it, it becomes a way of recognizing your brand in and amongst the thousands or millions of other brands out there today. Yet for a profile picture it's a bit different. People like to see pictures of people in some way whether it's just a face or something else with a person in it. It makes your profile appear more "personable" to people. But in the same way, some other profile pictures can work too such as AJ's SEO Rocket profile picture that gives the impression that they can take off with his SEO services. So it can work for you that way still too. :)

Hmm I get what you're saying. I've never really thought about it like that or that it would. Obviously that's not my intention and if it does then, well I'd say I apologize about it but then that's like admitting I'M the one in the wrong? IMHO Religion has no place on an SEO Marketplace or any business marketplace! Religion and business mix like water and electricity. They don't mix well! It's not an attack on another religion. It's just a tongue-in-cheek poke at Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam painting. It's an inside joke if you will. If anyone has a problem with that, I say, go and get a sense of humor! If someone has a problem with it that's their problem. And if they don't want to buy from me because they think my avatar is an offense to them or their religion, that's also their problem and I don't want to take their order! We can't not do something in case it's an offense to their belief system Everett. If we start giving in to that it means we can't fly our own flag outside our house when our nation is playing football on TV or we're not allowed to wear clothing that is made up of the colours of the Union Jack just in case someone find it "offensive". That's a totalitarian nanny state that I don't want to be a part of! We should all be allowed to fly our flag with pride. If they want to put their flag as their avatar or something else to do with their religion they should be allowed to without fear that it might offend someone else. And if they want to put a comical avatar about one of their religious leaders or founders, that's up to them too and nobody should take offense at that. Anyway, I'm C of E but I don't believe in religion. I think it's all caused nothing but troubles for the world. More people have died from wars caused by religion than another other disease or natural disaster combined! I think we should do away with religion altogether and the world would be a lot better place without it! And if you don't like that point of view that is your problem too. But I'm not the only one that thinks that! :)
And there's a difference between something that is intentionally offensive and something that is just light hearted.
That aside, in regards to your question "Do you believe some photos keep away people from buying a user's services?" Yes, I do think it can. There are some people on here that I refuse to buy from because they have a stupid picture of a baby or something that they have found online somewhere or they have a really low quality picture and that just puts me off. As for me, I can't say I've ever experienced that, as said, I seemed to get more sales after changing my picture to what it is now. So yeah and no.

Well it's definitely not an attack on anyones religion. I think anyone can see that and nobody would think that either. I mean, why would I purposely attack my own religion? Not that I'm religious! I mean, I'm C of E as most native Brits are so most people would assume as I'm a Brit, I'm a Christian. And the Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam painting is about Christianity not any other religion. And it's a famous painting that everyone has seen at some point in their life on TV, newspapers, magazines, online etc so everyone can relate to it. Plus it says "THANKS BRO" in it. So the intention behind it was (when I saw it) that people would be able to relate to it and it's modern take on life today and that they're like Adam and I'm like God giving them the breath of life. hitmeasap I never change my profile pictures. It's one thing to change it on Steam for instance, which I've done a few times, but I would never change my profile picture when it comes to business. My profile picture and my username are who I am. Changing that when I'm an established and reputable seller, buyer or freelancer in general would equal in a more or less "business suicide", as I would have to start over from scratch again. I have thought of changing my username and profile pictures a couple of times here on SEOClerks, but I just can't. None of you will remember me and even though some users on SEOClerks never heard of me, or doesn't care about my username or profile picture, it's still who I am and it's not that easy to just change it, as I would become someone else, sort of.
