How many backlinks should I build daily, so that I could see good results on my rankings?

I have come across some discussions about overdoing the spreading of backlinks. But I guess it is just fine to spread as many backlinks as you can especially when you are doing it yourself and not spending for that. However, it is advised that you place your backlinks in quality websites particularly popular blogs and forum. Those quality backlinks can give you better results. And for the number of backlinks to create in a day, maybe 10 or more will do.

For me it's not the number of backlinks which is important but rather the quality of backlinks and the consistency of making them is what's really important. 3-5 quality backlinks a day for 5 days a week can give yoy more positive results than doing 20
ordinary backlinks a day.
