    Can a .pdf document help me get backlinks?

    Can a .pdf document hosted on another site than mine which contains links back to my own blog help me get backlinks? In other words, do the links in the document get indexed?

    Links inside PDF files will have the same effect as ones inside a HTML file.

    So, they would help you get backlinks.

    Yes it's a good idea to create PDFs of some of your content with links to your money pages. Load them up to PDF directories, Mediafire etc. You get the link juice and people that down load them have links to your money sites to click.
