    Do your keyword phrase research, if you haven't, to discover what keyword phrases people are likely to use in order to find someone who does what you do. Then, include those keywords in the site copy, image alt tags, and even the page names. Remember that for SEO, you should consider each page individually, rather than the whole site. Optimize each page for a couple of keyword phrases.

    Since you are redesigning rather than designing a new site, try to use the same page names if you can. If you can't, set up server side redirects from the old pages to the new ones so people don't get an error 404 page if they have an old page bookmarked or the follow an old link.

    The most important thing is to make your site as user-friendly and engaging as possible, so people want to hang around for a while, not just hit and run. This means quality, unique content, including text, videos, images, etc. This also encourages people to link to your site, which adds to your search engine cred. Linking TO other sites doesn't help at all, to my knowledge. Continue to add content on a regular basis, such as blogs, whitepapers, videos, podcasts, whatever.

    Provide a good title and meta description tag for each page, but don't both with the meta keywords tag.

    I guess the design of the website is not directly involved with SEO but I have read some discussions that cluttered menu has a demerit to search engines particularly the menu in the home page that is not complete which means you have to go to the inner pages to find another sub menu. On second thought the speed of display of the web pages has an influence on search engines so just avoid putting in too many images and videos.
