    however I would suggest you go for well planed SEO package,

    Since you say your blog is free, I will not suggest you to do a paid promotion. In fact, there are already too many social media sites where you can promote for free. Start with Facebook. Create a facebook page for your blog. Build followers by sending invitations to the people in your friend list. If you are also present on other social media sites, share your facebook page link and ask people to follow your page. Once you have a good number of followers, start promoting your blog entries. While posting entries, always make sure you write a teaser.
    Apart from facebook, you can also promote on Twitter and other social networking sites and social book marking sites.

    My best bet in promoting a blog is via social media. Most likely you have an account in social media like Facebook and Twitter. Try to come up with a spiel that will be interesting to the readers. For example, if your blog is about food, how about making a post that says your blog is a candidate for the most unique recipe of the day. You are not joking nor fooling around because anyone can say that, right? But that cute spiel can catch the attention. And what is the recipe of the day means? I don’t know. But then again, the readers will not hesitate to click on your backlink just for curiosity maybe.
