How Do Search Engines Really Work?

Have you ever wondered how a search engine really works? Here I will take the time to explain in case you are not familiar with what search engines are all about.

First off you have to understand that a search engine is used to find info on the web. They have two main purposes really- to crawl the page and then index it and to provide answers when calculating results. The search engine sends out spiders, or robots, to crawl the pages on the web. Once the spiders have found a page, the will read the info on the page, as well as the meta tags and also go to the links that are on a page. The spider then goes back to the data base, where this info will be stored. Once the spider has visited a page, it will continue to visit to see if new info has been added.

The search engine will then take this info, and according to the relevance of the info on your site, you will be placed in the search engine. Keep in mind that not all search engines are going to rank your website the same. You may do really well on google, but on other search engines your results might be lower, or vice versa.

Now that you know how search engines work, you will be able to have a better idea of what the spider is doing when it crawls your page. Making sure that good content that is not copied from another source, as well as having links that are relevant to your website will ensure that you will most likely rank higher on the search engine.

Thank you very much for giving us a brief description about search engine working policy. Every search engine have a database or use another search engine database. Crawling and indexing means after crawl search engine index the website on search engine database and when any one form any side on this world search on the search engine by keyword- than search engine will show the result from search engine database.
